DVMixer Pro Overview |
|
|
| This
overview describes GAPsoft stream software application allowing
you to easily capture, edit, encode and deliver your streaming
media. |
|
|
| DVMixer Pro¢â is an integrated
streaming video encoding/decoding solution, which supports analog,
digital and stream input, and enables real time caption/logo
insertion and transition effects with 5
input video sources simultaneously. Also scheduling
functionality, such as one available on the existing media server,
is available in the encoder, which serves as a strong utility
for live and on-demand editing. |
| |
 |
| |
| Multi-video source
mixing and switching, encoding/decoding, caption generating
and scheduling all in one DVMixer¢â is what makes a powerful
and cutting-edge solution for professional streaming video out.
In addition, supporting WMT - Microsoft streaming core technology
standard, Real Media, ISO-MPEG4 - the 3G video standard and
MPEG2 - digital TV standard, is what makes the solution truly
remarkable. |
| |
This fully software product is
designed to meet based in real time for professional quality,
high performance at various sample rates and sizes for multiple
video industry standards - Windows Media Video, Real Media Video,
MPEG1 & 2, Quick time and ISO-MPEG4 and multiple physical
types - stored video source in hard drive and files over the
network, and captured video source from camcorder/VTR - in the1)
Decode/Encode
part.
2) Transition
part with FX effects is function to switch
multi-video sources - maximum 5 input video sources simultaneously
- both to live stream out and save for on-demand playback at
a later time. 3)
Graphics &
Titles part based on text, image and animation
provides real time caption, subtitle, logo and ad insertion
features and number of options for multiple mode. 4)
Scheduler
part is for scheduling the input/output
streams by time.
High performance dual processor based, for very high processing
power, to run multiple video source encoding, switching outputs,
effects, and Graphics & Titles tasks on one software system.

| The background technology identifies
and characterizes the components, interfaces, and protocols.
This includes the streaming video/audio decoding/encoding/trans-coding,
multi source transition, digital effects and insertion functions
that enable input video source and objects to communicate in
a distributed environment, and three categories of interfaces: |
| |
- Multiple video sources as of Windows Media Video (ASF),
Real Media, DV, AVI, and MPEG1 & 2 files real time Encode/Trans-code
to WMV (ASF), RM, Quick time and MPEG4 files and re-delivery
the video source.
- Transition effects & insertion functions - caption, title,
ad, and logo in text, image and animation basis insertion
- Remote controllable based on the network protocol and
FIREWIRE (i.LINK)

Streaming Live Content |
|
| Do you want to cover a live event,
such as a concert, sports game, distance learning, corporate
training, corporate meeting, and other public events, and deliver
it over the Internet or an Intranet, or save it in your local
hard drive? DVMixer¢â enables live video sources, like
a Hi-8 video camera and/or Digital camcorder, captures the content
and delivers it over the Internet or intranet. This content
also can be saved for on-demand playback at a later time |
|
Streaming On-Demand Content |
|
| Want to deliver a streaming video
album, training video, video diary, CD movie, and other saved
files over the Internet or an intranet? A VHS tape, Video-CD
title, files in your hard drive and/or files over the network,
can be easily trans-coded to WMV (ASF), RM, Quick time and MPEG4,
allowing you to stream stored content from DVMixer¢â to
an individual PC on request. |

DVMixer Usage Scenarios |
|
| This section
describes usages of DVMixer. |
|
|
GAPsoft Stream software product
provides a high-level architectural overview of how customers
can stream both live and on-demand content over the Internet
and intranet environments using GAPsoft encoding/trans-coding
technologies. The Application Model introduces the notion of
multi source-specific Utilities. The encode/decode Framework
component is a collection of cooperating objects that provide
an integrated solution within an application or technology and
which is intended for customization by the developer or user.
Multimedia means better communication. Video and audio surpass
the communicative power of static text and graphics, which is
one reason video and audio enabled applications are the next
wave of Network-based technology. GAPsoft provides a complete
platform for integrating video and audio into a number of Web-based
and system-based applications. The following scenarios illustrate
only a few of the many ways you can use GAPsoft Stream based
technologies. |
| |
Streaming Video Album & Video Diary |
| |
- Make your personal, family and friends memorable content
and/or diary as of birthday, wedding, vacation, travel,
graduation and other specific days using multimedia library
in hard drive of computer machines from digital camcorder
- Deliver and enjoy the multimedia streaming movies over
the Internet with your family and friends. Enable it to
read industry-standard bit-streams such as DV, Windows Media
Video (ASF), Real Media, Quick time, AVI, and MPEG1 &
2 files making it easy to repurpose to Internet streaming
formats as ASF, RM, Quick time & MPEG4 files. And attach
the movies to an email or attach in your hard drive for
playback at a later time.
|
Distance learning |
| |
- Extend the classroom by streaming taped instructions
over the Internet or intranets. By expanding the audience,
institutions can maximize the value of their initial training
investment
- Make it easier for trainers to generate compelling and
memorable content, and make it easier for students to receive
training whenever and wherever they need it, using their
own PCs
- Deliver multimedia presentations over corporate networks
and the Internet, and save substantially on training materials,
binders and CD-ROMs
- Provide a single training source that can be immediately
updated and accessed on the network without having to print
and distribute revised material across the company
|
Corporate Communications |
| |
- Provide live broadcasts of important organizational briefings,
such as internal presentations or presentations for the
press or analysts, to everyone within the organization
- Capture live presentations for playback, and build a
library of multimedia information for reference and training
on-demand
- Reduce travel costs by eliminating the need for employees
to attend training or meetings in distant locations by streaming
the event to their PCs
|
Other applications |
| |
- Source stream re-delivery: DVMIXER enables streaming
out of the encoded video source and video/audio splitting
as well as captions and logo insertions for final re-delivery.
Stored video on hard drive, tape, digital camcorder and
video sources over the network, every video source is available
to stream out on its high quality.
- Real time captions, subtitles, spot news, logos, and
ad insertion are available. Streamed video can also be dubbed
and video inserts which matches with the music can be done
as various editing or re-editing options.
- Scheduled programs or commercial stream out is also available
live and on-demand. Stored commercial files and live captured
inputs can be decoded as well as VTR tape sources can be
captured real time to stream out.
- Traditional broadcasting system has complicated procedures
to stream out, e.g. sports broadcast in a stadium, as broadcasts
as such would involve wired camera inputs and audio/video
hardware analog switching system which would then be inputted
to the SNG system. This signal would be picked up by the
satellite to be sent to the broadcasting station to proceed
with editing, captions and effect insertion to encode and
broadcast real time over the Internet.
- DVMixer has advantages of shortening ready time to broadcast
with wireless modem and/or wireless LAN card built-in notebook
system cabled to the camera. Wireless input stream will
be decoded, captioned, switched, encoded and streamed out
over the Internet real time.
